Everybody has been informed through the General Information Bulletin distributed by the Organization of 21 January 2010, that the Staff Association together with the PAHO Executive Management are conducting joint efforts to assist our colleagues of PWR-HAITI and PROMESS. At the Haiti Country Office there is an important share of locally recruited personnel and it is important that all of us who work for PAHO show our solidarity with them and help them during these moments of extreme necessity.

The EC has invited all the staff (affiliated and non-affiliated) to express their generosity and solidarity with our colleagues and friends who work in Haiti. The LO’s have been encouraged to carry out activities to collect funds. The funds collected will be conveyed to the Haitian personnel working in Haiti, for they are the ones who have suffered greater losses and have lower possibilities of recovery. We have also recommended that any funds collecting activities should be coordinated with the corresponding management in order to join efforts.

The PAHO/WHO Credit Union (PAHO/WHO FCU) has established the Haiti Relief Fund account to receive the donations for our colleagues.

Any person can make a donation through a transfer to this account by e-mail or in person by filling out the internal accounts transfer form.

The EC reiterates its call for solidarity from everyone working in PAHO toward our colleagues who work for PAHO in Haiti.
