Currently, PAHO does not own a standard of position titles according to the recommended by ICSC and it does not follow the Common Classification of Occupational Groups (CCOG). The reality is that today more than 600 different position titles are counted, making the consolidation of generic descriptions of positions with multiple titles difficult. In addition, the titles generally reflect the work area but not the nature of the position as well as there is inconsistency in the assignation of the position titles. All this makes the identification within the Organization of staff that posses equal technical level and expertise difficult.
